We are a small dairy farm in North Texas producing raw milk for animal and pet consumption. Though the farm is just over a decade old, it continues to serve the pet community, motherless livestock, and even orphaned fawns at wildlife rehabilitation centers. We love what we do, and we will continue doing it for as long as it helps those in need.

My decade as a dairy farmer has shaped my career, but it has also deeply influenced my spiritual journey. Through the daily work of farm life—caring for animals, mending fences, and navigating unexpected challenges—I’ve discovered meaningful parallels to my walk with God. These lessons keep me humble and grounded. Some friends and family have encouraged me to write a book or start a blog. The thought has crossed my mind, but I’ve decided to do something a little different.

While I’m always busy managing goats and caring for my family, I want to share these experiences through monthly letters. This gives me the opportunity to share what I’m living through with you in real time. You’ll see what the seasons are like as a goat farmer, and I’ll share what God reveals to me about my walk with Him. After all, He is “the Good Shepherd.”

Along with sharing what happens on the farm and in the garden, I also get to share my artwork—pieces inspired by and created from photographs taken during my day-to-day life and work.

Goats in the Garden Letters got its name from a snapshot of real life. One day, one of our baby goats “ Peeps” broke through what we thought was a goat-proof fence and turned our carefully tended vegetable garden into her personal buffet and playground. What was intended to be a summer garden providing fresh produce for our household was reduced to one. single. cantaloupe plant. … one ….

So, Goats in the Garden is a living testament to Scripture and an embodiment of our life. We try to care for our lives by planning carefully and working diligently, but sometimes unexpected things—like naughty little goats—come in and destroy our carefully laid plans. Yet God sees us, and God has a plan even for the chaos, as Scripture reminds us again and again:

“Do not worry about what to eat or what you will drink, for your Heavenly Father knows that you need these things” (Matthew 6:31–32)

My prayer for you is that God speaks to you through these letters, that He blesses you in the midst of my chaos, and that He embraces you and tells you exactly what you need to hear. May you be inspired and uplifted by my stories, naughty but yet love able goats, and artwork.
